Shine 2004

Pushing the Boundaries of Conventional Cinema

Thursday 25 – Saturday 27 March
Cubby Broccoli Cinema

Welcome to Shine 2004 – the short film platform in the Bradford Film Festival.
Shine 2004: Pushing the boundaries of conventional cinema

Shine is driven by two main aims: to support and inspire short filmmakers through exhibition and access and to profile particularly innovative and original works that push the boundaries of conventional cinema.

The focus of the Shine programme is to encourage short filmmakers to remain creative in their approach and ideas and to reflect the various ways and contexts in which short filmmakers are now producing and exhibiting work. Thus, this year’s programme is also about opportunity. It offers short filmmakers the chance to meet industry professionals to learn the latest issues and see some original work. However, Shine’s programme is not only for those eager to break into the film world or those currently working in the industry - it also aims to engage and entertain the widest possible audience. Accordingly, the programme spans the short film spectrum, from stories to attempts to revise the short form. To all those interested in experiencing film with a difference, Shine 2004 is an absolute must-see!

£40 Shine Delegate Pass (£30 concessions)
20% discount for groups of 10 or more when booked in advance.
