From
the Netherlands came Paul Verhoeven, Rutger Hauer,
and Jan de Bont, with films that shook the world, but through
American cinema. However, all contributed to a developing
industry before leaving and, in the last five years, that
industry has been prolific with original, entertaining and
artistic movies.
We are delighted to profile a small number of these, from
the distinguished feminist period production of Nynke
to the off-centre work of Jos Stelling and Ate de Jong's
ambitious English language Fogbound. All titles in
the series are premieres to Britain.
